Make your outdoor spaces trendier

Are you looking to make your outdoor space a bit more stylish? Well you’ve come to the right place. With the summer months upon us more and more people are looking to make the most of the warmer weather, which means getting outdoors. If your garden needs some love after a harsh winter then look no further than our top tips for making your outdoor space blossom again.

Back to basics

First, let’s consider the basics. One of the first things people notice when stepping outside is the ground, and it can be fundamental to your design. How about going green with a traditional grass surface? This can be a great way to create a lush outdoor space, but if you want to mix it up and create something a bit trendy then there are tons of other options to think about. Perhaps you could still have grass intermixed with different textures to create a bold, structured new look.

If grass is not your thing then what are your other options? One look that works really well is wooden panelling, which can be incredibly versatile. Depending on the theme you’re going for you could choose dark panelling for a modern take or pale greys and white for a rustic, shabby chic look. Creating decked or pebble walkways or using coloured shingles and slates are also great ways to create different areas within the garden, complementing your overall look.

Complete the look

One thing that looks great against wooden panels in a garden is a pond, creating a whole multisensory experience in one fell swoop. Another great way to complete your space is with the addition of a veranda, or perhaps a pergola. These are increasing in popularity and give you lots of options when it comes to plants, lighting or creating a snug little seating area - perfect for those who want a quiet place to relax.

If you don’t fancy a traditional table and chairs then a bench, accessorised with pillows and perhaps an umbrella, is another funky option.

Garden accessories

There are many accessories out there that could help to complete your new look. Ditch the traditional garden gnome and introduce some originality, which doesn’t have to mean splashing the cash. Wall decorations, wind chimes, a birdhouse or even a small sculpture or water feature can all make a huge difference to the overall feel. All of these can be great value for money, but if you really want to add some character to your garden then why not invest in a beautiful resin statue, which can look gorgeous paired with matching plant pots.

You should also consider solar powered lights which work great for gardens as they’re weatherproof and don't require fiddly bulb changes. There are many styles you can choose from, from a subtle lamp for your garden table or fairy lights to illuminate your fence or pergola.

Time to decorate

It’s time for you to build your dream garden! Make the most of the gorgeous summer months by renovating your outdoor space just in time for al fresco lunches and balmy evening gatherings. You won’t regret it.
